Resident Choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich takes inspiration for her ballets from the music. Tallis: A story of four lovers is a Ralph Vaughan Williams work, which came from a borrowed theme from his 16th century English forebear, Thomas Tallis, and extended it into a fantasia – perfect for Ms. Wistrich’s interpretation using two couples dancing to the interwoven themes of the music. Choreographed in 1994 and last performed by City Ballet of San Diego in 1994.
